so i hate tech. but wait, isnt that weird? i hate tech but i made a website to rave about programming and making websites?? youre crazy, you might think
i guess you have a point, sort of. but i can't not love tech. ive grown up with it, its such an incredible power we've discovered/created. so what makes me hate it?
because they're exploiting us
thats right gents and etc's, tech used to liberate the individual in many ways. now it has become a tool of suppression, of control and power for the elite. of course, there are ways to use it for your liberation!
thats what im here for. i want to learn and teach you how to free yourself from the grasp of corpo overlords. it's all about knowledge!
the world is full of open source knowledge that's perfect for getting yourself out of the bear trap they've put us all in. now its a matter of finding the info, finding a community, and chipping your way out.
it's not all bad though
because there are already modern philosophers on the issue. a philosopher really isnt always a wise old f%ck that spits nonsense. the thinkers of modern day are all around us, they're probably modern socrates or kants or.. you get the gist.
and they're slowly figuring it out! many have already postulated a societal problem, a root cause to the problem. some have even started taking measures!
what does that look like? what have they come to realize? here are some i know
our good canadian friend jreg has pointed out, in the signature internet-poisoned way people's overwhelming loneliness , a technocapital dystopia approaching us and even seems to be offering some ways out (two different links)
gerbert johnson is covering more societal issues, generally how bad sh%t has gotten. he has an edgy cis white teen flare to him, but he's generally talking about some real issues. don't let the freaky titles or (at times) weird and ironic takes get you. he's a young person talking about massive issues that are bigger than all of us, so i figure he's kind of coping that way.
and of course the clippy movement which i think some of you are familiar with. i haven't had time to read into it too much, but it seems like a decent solution and its gaining traction which is, arguably, more important than being precisely what we need right now
thanks for sticking through all of that, if you have anything you want to share - feel free to contact me!
